Die ursprüngliche Auflage der ersten Ausgabe war auf etwa 850 Exemplare begrenzt. Das Mountain Dream Tarot gilt als das erste vollständig fotografische Tarotdeck, das jemals hergestellt wurde. Das Set gilt als so wichtig, dass das Metropolitan Museum of Art 1977 ein Exemplar erwarb. Die Karten befinden sich auch in der Sammlung des George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY. Das Bild der 3 Schwerter wurde als CD-Grafik auf Bruce Springsteens Album Magic (2007) verwendet.

The original run of the first edition was limited to approximately 850 copies, The Mountain Dream Tarot is believed to be the first entirely photographic tarot deck ever produced, The set is considered important enough for the Metropolitan Museum of Art to have acquired a copy in 1977. The cards are also in the collection of the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY. The 3 of Swords image was used as a disc graphic on Bruce Springsteen’s album Magic (2007).
