Napoleons Hauptquartier der Schlacht bei Waterloo 1815 befand sich im Gasthaus "La Belle Alliance". Blücher gefiel die Doppeldeutigkeit "Das schöne Bündnis" und sprach vom Bündnis der Allierten gegen Napoleon als "Belle Alliance"

Napoleon's headquarters for the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 was in the inn "La Belle Alliance". Blücher liked the ambiguity "The beautiful alliance" and referred to the alliance of the Allies against Napoleon as the "Belle Alliance"
